Inspired by the Christmas movie “Holidate” where they first meet and are wandering through the Christmas decorated shops eating a free pretzel!

Ingredients
3 cups plain flour
1 packet dry yeast
1 teaspoon caster sugar
2 tablespoons oil
1 – 1 1/2 cups warm water
1 teaspoon salt plus extra for the topping
Sesame seeds
Method
Sift the flour and salt into a large mixing bowl.
Add in the oil.
In a seperate bowl or jug, combine together the warm water, yeast and sugar well.
Now add the wet mix to the flour, mixing to form a firm dough [add more warm water if needed]
Tip out onto a floured surface and knead for 5 minutes.
Place the dough into a large oiled bowl and cover with glad wrap.
Leave this in a warm place to rise for 1 hour.
On a plate add some salt and sesame seeds, these will be the toppings of your pretzels.
Seperate into balls for individual pretzels.
Roll and stretch the dough out to form one long roll of dough.
Drag one side of the dough through the salt and sesame and place onto a baking tray lined with baking paper.
Arrange into your pretzel shape – optional egg wash on top for extra colour!
Bake until golden.
Keep in an airtight container for 3 – 5 days
