Glazed honey ham sounds like a lot of work and it is a little bit of a love job but WOW, trust me ham will never be the same. And yes, you can whip this up last minute if someone changes their Christmas day attendance like in Christmas with the Kranks!

Ingredients
Ham with skin on
Rind of 1/2 orange
2 soft dried figs
3/4 cup honey
Juice of 1 and 1/2 oranges
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1 cinnamon stick
2-3 star anise
1 tablespoon caster sugar
Method
In a small pot add honey, orange rind, figs diced, sugar, both juices and spices. Simmer over a medium heat until the liquid reduces to half and becomes jam like – warning this will bubble up! Allow this to slightly cool in the pot and as it cools it will thicken and become sticky.
Remove the cinnamon stick from the glaze also.
Prep the ham, I like to score the skin and part of the flesh in long slits that I will also follow to slice the ham when done. Place this on some foil in a baking tray (helps with the clean up of the glaze!)
Pour over some glaze to just coat and pop in a 180 degree oven for 5 minutes. Take the ham out, glaze again and repeat every 5-10 minutes until all of the glaze has been used and the ham is warmed through.
Once this is completed take out of the oven and cover with foil and allow to rest for 30min
If using a whole leg of ham, multiply the recipe accordingly; above quantities per 1kg ham
